A CT Scan and upgrades to the Emergency Department at Kootenay Lake Hospital are on the horizon for the residents of Nelson and area because of John’s commitment to quality health care.  Over the last three years, John has worked diligently with City Council, the Regional District Board, Interior Health, Kootenay Lake Hospital staff and the Provincial Government to build relationships to support quality acute health care services in our region.  Mayor Dooley’s steadfast determination to achieve quality health services in our community is a great asset to our progress.

In my community efforts to restore Cottonwood Creek and improve the natural values along the West Waterfront Pathway, I have experienced Mayor John Dooley as a good listener open to different perspectives. He has been approachable, enthusiastic and action-oriented. Under his leadership, the City of Nelson has secured a half-million dollar grant from the province of B.C. to improve water conditions for fish in Cottonwood Creek.  While I do not agree with all of the decisions of the incumbent city council, I strongly support John Dooley as an effective and able leader for our city's future. I see in him an authentic love of Nelson that inspires his work to preserve its attributes and enhance its potential
